Some individual colleagues are incredibly talented and collaborative.
Svantaggi
The biggest letdown is the culture, or lack thereof. Onsemi talks a lot about sustainability, but it’s pretty clear the motivation is financial, not ethical. The headquarters feels soulless. Leadership is rarely around, but still expects employees to show up just to make the building look full. Meanwhile, certain individuals are granted full remote status with no explanation. It creates a frustrating “rules for some, not for all” dynamic that kills morale. Executive leadership often feels out of touch and if you have a problem with it, they don't care. Communication from leadership is minimal. Outside of quarterly all-hands meetings (basically earnings calls for employees), where pre-selected questions are answered and real concerns are avoided, there’s little transparency or engagement. Outside of that event, top-down communication doesn't really exist. Alignment across teams is a constant struggle. Initiating meaningful change is nearly impossible because no one can agree on a direction or process to get the right approvals promptly. The marketing org is unstable, with key team members cut and no clear strategy in place. Despite the “world-class team” pep talks, most people know the reality is far from it.
