Senior management allowed a mass of recruitment to occur, while boasting about this for months. By end of 2021, the 10 junior Devs that were hired were reduced to 0 due to sudden redundancies. Technology department suffered over 40 redundancies in total! Some people had their offers rescinded after quitting their previous jobs and got told "try your old company, see if they will take you back". The senior management either ignored red flags and wasted people's time, or they had no foresight to whatever issues caused this decision, and I don't know which is worse but both outcomes show a gross incompetence.

In my opinion, the culture had become increasingly toxic, with very little autonomy for employees. Decisions felt highly centralised, and it often seemed that everything had to be dictated from the very top, (even to the most smallest details) multiple times over leaving little room for people appointed in the appropriate positions to make meaningful decisions. It was also concerning to see so many experienced, long-serving colleagues leave. Many of these people appeared to have been instrumental in the company’s previous success, and their departures had a noticeable impact on morale and continuity. From my perspective, the product no longer feels in touch with customer needs, while leadership appeared uncertain about the future direction of the business. That uncertainty seemed to create significant pressure, which often felt as though it was passed down to loyal frontline employees. Ultimately, I was disappointed that leaving became my only realistic option. I stayed as long as I could because I cared about my role and my colleagues, but I couldn’t continue working in an environment that I felt had become increasingly unhealthy.
