The whole interview experience at ADP, could not have been more worse.
The logistics of the whole selection process weren't handle properly( no proper followup ,ambiguous Job Description, no schedule mail for interview at location).
Although, at the face of it, ADP being a Fortune 500 firm , whose tagline is #workhappy , it appears that same principle is not applied to a prospective candidate who is appearing for interviews for appointment in the company, and eventually becoming a future employee.
In my opinion, this kind of treatment to a prospective candidate , who is an outsider at the time of interview will not keep the employee motivated ; if he is selected.
The whole process was handled very unprofessionally;excerpts of which are as follows-
1)There were multiple round on the day of interview ,without any prior information of it which would have enabled a candidate to be mentally prepared for multi layered interviews. The discussion where repetitive and areas on compensation, salary breakup, policy was comfortably left out.
2)In one of the final rounds, the behavior of interviewer appeared to me as pre-decided to bemean the knowledge and potential of interviewee candidate.
3)The final interview experience was so bad that it was unworthy of even being called a stress interview, a totally one sided judgmental discussion- rude and demoralizing; though my experience was good in previous multiple interview.
4)During the course of my interview several question pertaining to applicability of provisions under various labor laws viz payment of gratuity act, ESI Act, PF Act,etc were asked and I replied correctly and accurately in my own language, but it appears the interviewer was seeking for an answer from me in the language pre-conceived by him.
4)The interviewing person, it seemed to me , had already made up his mind of not selecting, which is totally fine by me, but there are always other POLITE ways to say NO to a person which doesn't hurt the self esteem of a candidate.
5) There were no further followup even after requesting for one or a regular and customary "we will let you know.."
6)Also, to add to it,what i saw during the whole process is lot of power distance in the firm at top level of management at Hyderabad ; unlike the ideal corporate culture of MNC having a open door policy and empowering people;which is contrary to its Brand Image being projected to the outside world of being best place to work and #workhappy firm.
Finally , I would like to say here , recruiting a person is always a "two way street", it's not like you are doing a favor to a candidate by selecting him. If you don't like a candidate, please don't degrade him of being a unworthy person/human being.
I would surely not recommend anybody to join ADP Hyderabad office because of such horrible experience and insult which I faced of being there.
