I applied in late October, got an invite to do a self-guided video interview a few days later (early November), and in mid-November received an invite to do a phone interview. The self-guided video interview was a mix of recorded responses and typed responses, such as why I was interested in working for ADT and what salary I was looking for. The phone interview was less of an interview, other than briefly asking about my work history, and more of them telling me that they wanted to hire me. I accepted. After accepting the conditional offer, I had to do a background check and a drug test (a couple of days after the phone interview), and a week after that (early December) was informed that I passed and was sent the link to my onboarding portal.
Though most of the process went smoothly, the snag came when I couldn't meet their Internet speed requirements in late December/early January and they had to take back the job offer. Even though the job offer was canceled I still received onboarding emails (welcome aboard, how was your first week?) and they shipped the equipment to me (I called FedEx to cancel it, so it wouldn't ship all the way to me just to have it get sent back).
In retrospect, I wish this was all figured out *before* giving me an offer so none of this hiring and then canceling would've happened. Though the process went quickly, the immediate "you're hired!" at the end of the phone interview seemed too fast for me. It felt more like cattle call hiring and less that they wanted me specifically.
