The interview was smooth and easy, and the interviewers were professional and talkative. My only issue with the experience was that I was told when the expected joining date would be, and that they would contact me within two days to confirm it. This strongly implied that I had been accepted—which, in my humble opinion, is not something you should suggest to a candidate unless it’s certain.
When I followed up to ask about the next steps, I received no response and was completely ignored. I eventually reached out to another team member (who lives in a different country), and they replied with, “We apologize, but we found another candidate.”
My only question is: why would you, as an interviewer, give a candidate such high hopes and then never follow up?
