Deeply Disappointed by the Hiring Process of ASBL - UNPROFESSIONAL HR
I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with ASBL's hiring process.
Over a span of two weeks, I went through four rounds of interviews, each lasting around an hour — from initial screening to product deep-dives with senior leadership. I invested serious time and energy preparing for each conversation, genuinely excited by the opportunity and the role.
Right at the beginning, I clearly communicated my compensation expectations when asked. At no point during the process was I told that the budget for the role was drastically lower. Had that been communicated upfront, I wouldn’t have proceeded. But instead, the process continued — round after round — building the impression that we were aligned.
Finally, after weeks of back and forth, I received an offer that was not just below expectations, but far from industry standards for the role and experience required. When I asked for clarity and expressed my disappointment, the HR representative abruptly asked whether I wanted to accept the offer or not — and ended the call when I said no.
I understand if a company has budget constraints or salary bands — that’s completely fair. But what’s not fair is to take someone through four detailed rounds of interviews, with full knowledge of their expectations, only to disregard that entirely at the end. It felt like my time, effort, and professional integrity were not respected.
To anyone applying here: ask for full clarity upfront. And to the company — I sincerely hope you reflect on how this process impacts people. Interviews aren’t just evaluations — they’re human experiences. And this one left me feeling incredibly disheartened.
