      Colloquio

Let me preface that they have just finalized their search and offers are just coming out. First I had a phone interview which went okay. I was invited to come in for a face to face and it was not good at all. Out of all of the interviews that I have had, this was the worst! They brought me in to the (overly large office of the very young CEO) room and were late, unorganized and way too laid back. I felt that for the type of person they are looking for, they are shooting for the moon! These products are not rocket science but you would think you needed to be a genius sell it. I have seen companies like this that hire young engineers and have huge egos.....they want very talented successful sales reps but they hire the typical out of college frat types! I was not impressed with the sales manager whatsoever! I thought he was going to fall asleep in the first 5 minutes. I am glad that I didn't get an offer yet because even though I told them I would like an offer, I will turn it down!! After all of my other interviews I had (which were a lot) The other companies courted me through the process. BTW, after finding out the competition, I searched them out got hired by their biggest competitor Friday and feel that this was a much better fit because they have all of their benefits in place and are organized (pays $16,000 more also). They kept talking about their investors and growth but the one thing they forgot was that I was interviewing them also and they gave a very lackluster impression for a company that is supposedly excited about their future! They kept repeating how much fun they had at work but honestly, the only fun part I could see would be the maze through the office. I get that selling gas filtration isn't sexy, but being a representative of the company, I would of made it as sexy as I could make it! Sorry guys, but if you are going to play with the big guys, you have to do a much better selling job for the business and position! Account managers need leadership that not only talks about the excitement but shows it every day! I didn't feel like I would of had a lot of support from the manager at all. If they didn't like me, I am sure they picked up my vibes that I wasn't too impressed. I felt that I would of been so good at this position that I went to their biggest competitor and got hired very quickly (they obviously thought so too and they have been around longer). Sure AXI looks like it has potential with some of the projects in it's wheel house, but they need to grow up first! I left with the impression of being very excited about the interview only to be left largely disappointed.
