Completed an online assessment with 2 coding problems and a behavioural "survey" and received an email from a recruiter inviting me to the "on-site" (online due to COVID) interview a few weeks later. I had another call with the recruiter prior to the on-site where they offered some advice to help me prep which was very helpful.
The on-site was the same format as any Amazon on-site interview (lots of info online). There were 4 rounds with a mix of coding and behavioural questions.
2 business days later I received an email saying that the position I was applying for was filled, but they would try to find another position for me either within AbeBooks or with another Amazon team. I ended up being in this "team matching" phase for 2 months until I received an offer for an SDE role with another Amazon team

Colloquio
After a phone screen, I was given a 2 hour on line assignment in using Java, Maven 2 and Spring JDBC. They said they were "very impressed" with my solution.
They flew me into Victoria for a full day of interviews.
I met with the manager of technology and the manager of development. They seemed to be looking for an excuse to disqualify me as they saw me. They asked NO technical questions or questions about my experience. Instead I was asked to about my biggest mistakes, my conflicts at the workplace and times when I pushed too far at work. I never had a interview with technical people consist solely of getting me to talk of negative work experiences. However, I thought my answers were fine. This lasted about fifty minutes. Then they told me to leave. Even when asked, the head manager refused to give any explanation or apology. Racism? Ageism? Managerial incompetence? I can only guess, but certainly rude.
I had to sit around for 7 hours until my plane left.
