      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso ActivateWork nel mese di giu 2025

      Colloquio

The screen with HR was great; the recruiter was kind and on top of things. The second interview was a take-home assignment where you had to (1) review a sample resume and draft a response email that was both encouraging and helpful and (2) draft an email to someone who wanted to stop their job hunt after being dismissed from a final interview. I was invited to a penultimate interview which changed from what the recruiter said it would be. It was originally advertised as 45 minutes with the manager, and they changed it to 60 minutes--30 minutes with the manager, 30 minutes with the manager and career coach. The manager was kind and supportive during the first 30 minutes, although she seemed to check out while the career coach was asking her questions, only jumping back in for one of my answers. They took a week to think about it and then dismissed me before I could be invited for a final onsite interview. Before my first interview, I saw the hiring manager chatting in the comments on LinkedIn with someone she already knew who was interested in the job, so I can take a good guess at whom they moved forward. For all the steps I went through and all the questions I was asked for a job that would have been a pay cut, I almost wish I hadn't made it so far in the application process.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Questions as part of the initial application: 1. Why are you interested in ActivateWork? 2. Describe a time you helped someone build confidence or overcome a professional challenge. 3. Describe your experience coaching individuals through career transitions or job searches. How have you supported people whose lived experiences differ from your own (e.g., culturally, socioeconomically, educationally)? Questions in the HR screen: 1. Logistics--hybrid schedule, salary, start date 2. Tell me about yourself 3. Tell me more about your experience coaching or supporting individuals through career transitions or job searches. What populations have you worked with most and how are your skills and experience best equipped to support them? 4. How comfortable are you with tech recruiting? --> (Since I’m conversational in tech work) What perceptions do you have of the tech field right now? What challenges do you think early career professionals will face as they try to break in? 5. What data do I track? How? Questions in the manager interview: 1. Tell me about yourself—why this transition? Why work with a wide range of backgrounds, not just people in the traditional education system? 2. When have you been in an organization that was in constant evolution/change? How did you stay grounded? 3. What's a time where you had a disagreement or misalignment at work? What did you do about it? 4. What's the most challenging feedback you've ever received? 5. Tell me about a time you helped improve a process, resource, or tool to support learners. Questions from the current career coach: 1. When you responded to the client in the case study assignment, what were your goals in your response? What would you do if they didn't respond? 2. Tell me about a time you had to coach someone with unrealistic expectations. 3. What's an example of when you've coordinated with multiple stakeholders to support a client? 4. How do you balance accountability and empathy? 5. Tell me about a time you worked with a learner who didn't follow through on the agreed-upon plan.
