I applied at the end of January 2022. I did 3 steps + the HR call (last step in April 2022), at the end they offered me the job (in May 2022), but being resident in Europe they told me they were going to see if was possible to start remotely whilst waiting for the VISA and then relocating in the UK once the VISA was ready or wait 4-5 months for the VISA and then start from there (the longer time for the VISA were due to the Ukraine war). I said okay, I'm fine with both, I declined another job opportunity as it was kind of my dream job to work for Blizzard titles and I started waiting. I gave them the documentation for the contract, I received all the offer etc, but then I've been waiting for a month all the internal approval to start remotely. After a month the recruiter told me ok now I need to wait the last sign for the HR to start you remotely, I spoke with your colleagues they're waiting for you and so on. Cool! The week after the recruiter called me saying the HR Manager didn't approve the remote working for some internal reason (also revealing some stuff from previous employees that should be covered by the privacy) and told me that the only possibility was to request the VISA and wait for it (1 month and half after the first mail when they offered me the job...). But he also said that probably the Vice President was not keen on waiting 5 months now to get a new hire, considering the hot timeline they were going through (it was June 2022), and so probably they were going to find someone in the UK... After a week he called me back and he confirmed they were going to withdraw the offer sadly. In addition to having broken a childhood dream, having lost a big fan and a player, the fun part was receiving the questionary about the recruitment process... are you kidding me? I also declined another job opportunity for you (and this was written via mail). But also, discovering during January 2023 (1 year later I applied, 6 months after they offered me the job), that they were still looking for that position (hard to fill in the UK, being with a focus on specific territories). And during those 6 months the VISA would have arrived easily. This made me reflecting a lot on what we are for the companies: numbers.

Rectruiter organised initial screening call that lasted 45 minutes. Very pleasant conversation. Received feedback about 1 week later informing me that despite my clear transferable skills, there were other candidates with more direct and relevant experience for the role.
