Originally, I believed Blizzard was changing its workplace climate and discriminatory practices, but I was wrong. Nothing has changed. They've only become better at hiding their operations. I applied for a management position at Blizzard as I was a good fit for the responsibilities needed. I was contacted by a recruiter to do an initial interview/screening with him. Then, he scheduled a second interview with the hiring manager. When I realized there were no details provided for the second interview, which was an hour long video call, I reached out to ask for any details and I was scolded by the recruiter about his need to be fair to all candidates. Many companies provide interview expectations to all of their candidates to ensure their preparedness, but Blizzard isn't one of them. During my second interview, I met with the hiring manager and was asked many questions to assess my personality and candidacy, to which I handled reasonably well. I was told I would be contacted a week from the second interview with next steps. Months have went by and I still have yet to receive a follow-up. As a female and person of color, I believe this interview was done to check a box to acknowledge Blizzard is talking to this demographic, but they're not actually hiring them, let alone following up, which demonstrates how they treat new candidates. If this is how Blizzard treats their candidates, how do they treat their employees once hired?
