I received an email from a recruiter at Blizzard to set up an initial call after applying for a Lead Game Designer position. During the call, they expressed a lot of enthusiasm for my candidacy. They surfaced a new director-level position on an unannounced title that had just been posted that he thought I would be an even better fit for than the lead role. I said that sounded great. They concluded the call by saying they would talk to the hiring managers and get back to me by the end of the week - next week at the latest. A month later and two emails trying to check in I never heard anything back, which just felt dissonant and unprofessional. It has been a genuinely disappointing experience.
