The interview was technical only at one point (talked to 5 people, VPs and Sr. Mgrs, 1 Architect), by a prospective manager, asked to solve a traffic control problem. The overall process consisted of a lot of talking on general topics related to my resume. They gave me a verbal offer on Fri, mentioning "how exceptional my interviews went and how excited they are, and that I am the only person to get approval from all 5 interviewers", only to contact me on Tue to let me know "after much deliberation, they selected another candidate as they couldn't get approval for my salary request". Why the hell would they start interviewing me in the first place (they knew my salary requirements upfront) only to "not be able to get approval" after best possible interview feedback????? Look elsewhere, sounds like they play the game where right hand doesn't know what left hand does, feels disfunctional.
