      Colloquio

The first interview is a telephone screen with a non-technical recruiter. This is fine, as the recruiter asks you standard questions about your background, what your interest is in the company, etc. However, the second stage is where I have an issue with their recruiting process. The second leg is a project in two parts for this position, both of which are lengthy and extremely time-consuming. The first challenge provides a data set pulled from Salesforce, and it asks you a series of questions that are ultimately testing your aptitude for data analysis and use of Excel pivots/formulas. This takes, at minimum, an hour and a half to complete. The second challenge tests your technical aptitude for Salesforce and business process building. This challenge asks you to write no less than three considerably lengthy validation rules and workflows with minimal knowledge on how their system is used today. In additional, they also want you to read through the roles for the sub-teams in the Sales Org, define all the object each team should be touching, AND provide 5-7 fields per each object that the teams would have in common to make the hand-off between teams successful. Just looking it over, I would guess that this would take a minimum of a few hours to complete, depending on your Salesforce knowledge. Issues: 1) You're asking your candidates to sink in a minimum of 3-6 hours of work for which they are not being paid 2) Your candidates have not even spoken with someone more in depth about the role before asking them to complete such a heinous task unpaid, and they therefore have no idea if the role is a good fit and want to proceed. 3) Jobseekers are currently fighting the worst global job market in history, and you are taking away their precious time from other paid opportunities. 4) Salary has not in any way been discussed at this stage, and your applicants may be wasting their precious time on you. 5) There is no guarantee that you will not take this unpaid work and use it to your own benefit.

We are so sorry that you did not find the interview experience with Adjust to be a positive one. We are always looking to optimize our hiring process and your feedback is crucial to helping us do that. The take home task is meant as a way for us to objectively look at how you approach the types of tasks you will encounter in the role if hired, without any type of bias clouding the team's judgment. The task is not related to current projects and the work will not be used for Adjust's benefit. Again, we are very sorry that this experience was not a good one for you, and thank you again for the feedback.
