The whole interview process didn't take too long to be finished. I got a LinkedIn message from a 3rd party recruiter to participate on Adyen's process. In the very next day I received a phone call from a HR person. It was a very simple and pleasant conversation, focusing on a shallow understanding of my personal experiences, knowledge of Adyen market and why I would take a new opportunity. Then I was invited to a Skype interview with two Front End Engineers, when we talked about my experiences and a lot of technical things (such as Javascript experience, frameworks, technical decisions...). They were very polite and friendly. After that I received a take home test that consisted on a very simple solution using a well-known public API. Due to personal issues I couldn't start the test on time. After a month I did the test and asked if I could resume the process and they were very positive about, saying that better later than never. I sent them my solution and they scheduled a follow-up interview discussing my solution to the test problem, asking me why I decided to use an approach or another, which things I decided to prioritize and which ones I would implement if I had a little bit more time to work on it. It was a great interview, but a little bit impersonal. I passed the test and was invited to have the last round of interviews at Adyen's HQ in Amsterdam. I'm from Brazil, so they booked a flight and payed for all the costs.
The last round consisted of a welcome amazing free lunch with three Adyen employees and three afternoon interviews. One with two Front End Engineers, another with two managers and the last one with a member of the Adyen board. The first two interviews were focused on technical conversations and my motivation to work at adyen. We also discussed a lot about security concerns and about team relationships. The last one was an unusual conversation focusing on why would I consider to move to Amsterdam and some more conceptual topics like which was my best ans worst work environment. The three interviews were very good and the last interviewer gave me a positive feedback at the end of our talk. I flew back to Brazil and I received a positive response and an offer just three days after.
