Colloquio
The job advert said something similar to "join one of the best recruitment teams in UK" - which was a major attraction to me.
I applied via LinkedIn - about a week later the Senior Recruiter asked me for my availability for a telephone interview. After 1 week of silence from the Senior Recruiter and only after having followed up twice by email did I get a confirmed date & time; but the call did not come (I thought - these things can happen, we all get overwhelmed sometimes) - so we rescheduled for next week.
I had a pleasant 15 minutes telephone interview with the Senior Recruiter - both the company and the role were very interesting.
On the same day of my telephone interview I was invited for a face to face interview at their lovely serviced offices where, again, I had a very good talk with the Senior Recruiter (about 50 minutes) - who gave me detailed information on the job, colleagues and company. At first I was told that my salary expectations were perhaps too high, but I evenually realised that the role would be far more satisfactory than going for more money - in addition I could certainly see the prospect of career progression. We ended the interview with the Senior Recruiter saying "have a think about the job and we'll talk in two days' time".
Immediately after the interview I called my partner and said what had gone on and my partner said that it was very good news and was happy that it turned out fine - great industry to work in and it seemed to be a great new colleague to work with.
So came the "two days' time" when I emailed (and then eventually called) to say that I had had a think about it and I would like to move forward - no reply to my email and no response on the phone. Next week I emailed asking when would be a good time to talk - no response. The following week I emailed again asking if there was still any interest - was told that the Senior Recruiter still had a few interviews to wrap up and that we would talk "next week" - that "next week" passed and I just simply gave up - I had realised that the particular Senior Recruiter knew how to lead on and keep a candidate hanging - hats off for the expertise.
It has been almost 3 months now since it all started.
Oh yes and he/she did say that he/she likes his/her job at Dentsu Aegis Networl because he/she is not breaching his/her moral grounds as a Recruiter.
I have been exposed to a very unpleasant and unprofessional experience. This Senior Recruiter does not understand closure and that it can sometimes be extremely important, particularly to a person who is eagerly seeking a new role.
I would have appreciated feedback in the end. I should have not been led on (that is morally incorrect).
I don't see how the job advert could have read "join one of the best recruitment teams in UK".
