Initial interview consisted of a 30 minute phone conversation with an Aerotek recruiter, on behalf of their client, 3M Cogent. I was asked to describe my professional background and qualifications, as well as some logistical questions regarding the job location etc. The recruiter didn't ask anything too specific regarding my technical skills, but I was asked to send over some writing samples. In the end, the client was looking for someone with a systems integration/engineering background, which is way outside my areas of expertise.
