I was connected with Aerotek by a mutual connection. I saw the job posting and my resume was passed along to the contact. I was briefly screened by him over the phone before a more formal phone screen a week later. Following this phone screen I was brought into the San Jose, CA office for a one on one interview with a director. After this I was offered another position and I withdrew my application. The entire interview process was professional and very well conducted. They did a great job making sure I knew everything about the position and the company.

Submitted my application online and didn’t here back for like two and a half months. Once the recruiter finally got back to me I had a quick screening interview with her regarding my background. It seemed to go pretty well and she told me that I’d hear back from her by the end of the week. Low and behold it was past the time she said she’d contacted me so I decided to call back to check on the status of my candidacy. She told me that she didn’t get back to me because apparently the office the she was hiring for all of a sudden went on a hiring freeze. I was pretty annoyed because when I talked to her it sounded as if she was never going to get back to me had I not called. I wasn’t mad about the hiring freeze, but if you’re a recruiter it’s your job to keep candidates in the loop of these types of things especially if it’s a candidate who actually made it to the first or second round of interviews.
