Colloquio
I first got a call late in the afternoon about coming in for an interview the very next day. Decided to attend and arrived and was shown to an upstairs conference room where a few others and I gathered for a presentation from one of the district managers. Very smooth talking presentation about why everyone in the room should go sales even though myself and another were there for management positions. After a breakdown on how Aflac did things and some sweet talk about why commissioned pay was so much better than a salary, I decided to go ahead and see what the personal interview was like. Came back the next day for their manager trainee position and was basically given more sweet talk about how the position worked and why I was such a great fit for it. I was never really asked any questions about why I wanted the position other than a simple why do you think you could succeed in this job. I was offered a position under the district manager halfway through the interview but said I wanted to think about it for a bit.

First 10-min interview over the phone was awesome! We just took the time to know each other and it felt humane and actually like the Manager wanted to know who I was.

It was a Group Interview process for what I thought was the Training Coordinator position. To my surprise and dismay, it was not! The title of the job posting was for Training Coordinator but was actually for a Commissioned Agent. I wish they would have told me this when I emailed to ask for clarification, where the person on the line assured me it was for a training coordinator position. It was a total waste of my time.
The interview was vey informal and the interviewer was unpolished and in my opinion was borderline unprofessional.
Out of respect, I stayed the entire 30 minutes, but felt that they lied to me, and actually wanted to walk out.
After receiving the email the stated that they are looking to go a different direction (rejection email). I then decided to email back with this:
"I appreciate the email. I did want to express that I went to the meeting specifically for the Training Coordinator position you have been posting for Aflac. To my surprise, it was not for that position yet it was for a Agent position. Had I known that upfront, I would not have applied or even wasted our time in coming to the office. I suggest that in the future, when posting the position, you label it correctly to prevent this from happening to other candidates. Because Aflac is known for being ethical, I felt that it is unethical to improperly post the position as a Training Coordinator, because it is not."
