I was approached by a recruiter via LinkedIn for a managerial role at Afreximbank. The process began with a first-round interview, for which I was one of four candidates. Two days before the interview, I received a technical task and had to submit a presentation within 24 hours of receiving it. I was also given multiple psychometric tests to complete beforehand. The interview itself was very structured, although it started two hours later than scheduled. The first 10 minutes were dedicated to presenting my task, followed by scenario-based questions where I used the STAR method to respond.
Three weeks later, I was informed that I had made it to the final interview stage, this time with one of the Bank’s Executive Vice Presidents. That interview started 45 minutes late and lasted less than 10 minutes.
Although I did not receive an offer, I found the process professional, insightful, and aligned with the Bank’s mission. I learned a lot about Afreximbank’s work in promoting African trade and would definitely consider future opportunities with them.
