Phone call with recruiter. Then talk with CTO. Coding problem and then system design. Everyone I met with talked like a frat bro. CTO didn’t even have enough respect to be in a room with proper WiFi. I could barely hear him. The coding interview was the worst experience I’ve had so far. They were completely unprepared and tried to spend 20-30 min getting the env set up. 2 of the interviewers just stared at me and didn’t say a single word. When we hit the hour mark, I had to leave but one of the interviewers said “it’s okay we can continue since we lost time in the setup.” There was absolutely 0 respect for my time. They are looking for another “frat bro” to join them. Didn’t get good vibes overall. Pay is FAR below market.

3rd party recruiter reached out. Started the process but then got ghosted by the recruiter. Decided to apply to the company directly. After a talk with a staff engineer, they had me go through a technical deep dive with a coding and system design interview. Coding interview was a standard leetcode-style and the system design was pretty typical as well but the recruiter was extremely rude and kept shutting down my ideas with no explanation as to why even though the approaches are valid. It seems like they are looking for very specific answers to open-ended system design questions though your mileage may vary depending on interviewer.
