Had an email response, then a couple of calls with HR. the President runs the show, but no phone interview with him. Got through phone interview, stated my salary minimum, then fly there to find out they can't meet that. Ok. Met with a PM (non technical, but knows the company and market well). Met with an EE that seemed solid. The office area ease very disorganized/ messy. BUT, the lean mfg area is solid (good mfg leadership, but got the impression his personality was bout for everyone... but lean mfg can make enemies of the inexperienced). Finally met the President and then lunch with him. Strangely hiererachal, but he's a nice mellow guy. I got an offer, and tried to negotiate, but they wouldn't budge, even though I have lots of relevant experience. Had to bail out of the offer, as the 100k max is a huge cut and Eugene isn't that much cheaper for living.
