I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Alibaba.com (New York, NY) in March 2015.
Interview
Brief phone screen interview followed by 3 onsite interviews. The phone-screen interview is mainly to ensure you are not wasting their time; we used an online collaboration app to share code interactively. The on-site interview is more in depth and average difficulty. The questions ranged from simple query/java questions to problem solving techniques for real issues (mostly scale related).

The interview process consisted of three rounds. The first was a technical screening with core Java and system design questions. The second round was a live coding session focusing on multithreading and memory management. The final round was a behavioral interview with the engineering manager. Overall, the process was structured, transparent, and focused on both practical coding skills and architectural understanding.

1 Hiring manager interview, 4 telephonic technical rounds each with Java and System Design questions and then final HR interview with discussion on all the past experiences. After everything is done, you go through background check and finally get an offer.
