      Colloquio

First appearances were VERY energizing, up-beat and inspiring. There were several people from Allegiant Travel in the room. NONE of them had been employed with Allegiant Travel over 2 years. Additionally the people deciding on whether you should be one of the ones to have a face-to-face interview had ZERO Human Resources training. There was a fantastic gentleman there who indicated that he was the "Head" of recruiting. He was very personable, outgoing and very interesting to speak with. The first hour or so we listened to the Head of recruiting talk about Allegiant Travel and we watched a slideshow presentation Afterward we were told to leave the room and that they would come get us in a few minutes. Our name tags had numbers on them and when we were reorganized we were done so by the number on our name tags. . While we were separated in to 2 groups the Head of Recruting was not involved directly with the process that followed. When we were settled in to the groups we were asked to recite, by memory, the fisrt beginnings of the Airline's safety demonstration. This in itself was not suppose to be a big deal because I am able to recite the entire safety demonstration from memory for Delta and Comair but for some reason I began drawing a blank and my presentation was broken (very embarrassing). The entire time the Allegiant Travel flight attendants listened to us the Head of Recruiting sat with his back to us working on his computer. After we all recited our broken attempts to recite the few lines were told that that there were 2 lamented cards on the floor that listed one of the "Values" of Allegiant Travel. We were asked to read the first two sentences out-load and them provide an example of how that "Value" came in to play during our past jobs. The second lamented card gave an example of a non-compliant passengers of a hostile passengers and we were told that we were to work with the person sitting next to us to form a solution on how to deal with that passenger. After we had gone through this short process we were told to leave the room and that someone will come get us shortly. When the head of recruiting came to get us he called several numbers and asked us to come back to the room. Basically, I was cutt from the face-to-face interview. I was not accepted for a face-to-face interview by 4 people that had my fate in their hands that had no Human Resources training. I am put off by this simply because I have been employed at Delta Airlines and Comair airlines since 1999. During my carrier I have received over 100 written compliments by passengers and other airline employees about my customer relations abilities. These 4 people did not review my resume. They did not give me to opportunity to discuss my skills with them and how my expertise would be a very good fit with Allegiant. I was 100% judged by a group of 4 other flight attendants that were very very pleasant people to deal with. I am not disgruntled in the least. I am writing just review to show that the people that hold your career choice in their hands have ZERO training abilities to make such a huge judgement call. Yes I was nervous and shaky but my main complaint is that based on my appearances and and nothing more I was not asked to tell Allegiant about my accomplishments ans award winning customer service relations ability. My entire fate was evaluated by for other flight attendants that had been with the company for less than years.
