The technical interview was conducted terribly. You get an email a week before the technical interview outlining what along the lines they're going to ask and the rules/guidelines. This email didn't mention I couldn't use a calculator. Then on the day of the interview, when I'm introduced to the interviewers, they say I can't use a calculator. Why? Because you need to know calculations in your head in case Excel messes up. Excuse me, but anyone proficient in excel knows there's an error-check function built in for situations like these. Also, Excel is one giant calculator anyways. This, coupled with changing the rules last-second has left a horrible taste in my mouth on how this company does their hiring selection. FYI, their equity research isn't even equity research I learned later on' it's glorified data entry. Coming from someone who's written full reports before, that's ridiculous. Also, I'm pretty sure my interviewer got their own question wrong when they asked me to describe how a transaction would impact the financial statements. Based on my personal experience, I'd recommend others stay away.

First round with a recruiter, standard questions about why the role, company, and background. Second round with sector leader, hard technical questions in accounting and finance. Third round with sector leader, conversational wanting to know more about you and your background.
