A recruiter reached out to me about this position. At first, the company was looking for someone on-site. I wasn't onboard as I was looking for a remote position and Orangeburg is difficult for me to get to anyway. Eventually the recruiter reached out a few weeks later and said they were open to remote applicants because they were struggling to get someone on-site. An interview was scheduled with a VP in which the role reported to and it was a terrible experience. It felt like an interrogation. He went down the list of my previous employers and asked one by one, did I work on Amazon Vendor Central or Seller Central. He then asked me if I could come on-site, that he doesn't like remote employees. He suggested I carpool with other employees since I didn't own a vehicle. At this point, I felt uncomfortable as I was told this would be a remote position but he's suggesting different ways to get to the office. The cherry on top was when he asked if I had any young children at home to care for. Totally inappropriate as this has nothing to do with my ability to perform my job duties. I rescinded my application the same day.
