One phone screen with HR and then a technical phone screen with a principal engineer.
The interview process did not give a good vibe about working at Lab126. The principal engineer couldn't even share how many members are on his team, let alone talking about what the team works on.
I asked about what is the biggest technical challenge they are trying to solve with this position and they couldn't even share a little bit. How am I supposed to be interested in this position when I do not know anything about what I would work on?
Looking at LinkedIn profiles, the principal engineer himself only joined a few months ago and there was only one other senior engineer on LinkedIn. Looked like they are building the team from scratch.
I got a rejection letter a few days after the phone screen which mentioned that Amazon's policy is to not provide specific feedback about acceptance/rejection. How am I supposed to be interested in working here if I am not provided feedback on how I can improve on my interviews? This shows that there is no scope/potential for internal feedback/growth. I feel sorry for the employees who work here for the level of secrecy the management exhibits.
