Application made online, was contacted the next day and asked to attend an interview the day after that. The job was advertised as 'Hospitality Skills Wanted for Customer Service Role', so the exact specifications weren't given on the website. Upon arrival to the offices up the cramped stairway we were asked to take a seat and fill out a form which mirrored information we already had in our CV. There was a large quantity of applicants all in the same waiting area, and we were thoroughly entertained by the receptionists who whistled and sang along to Ed Sheeran on the radio. I was apologised to by one of them about a delay (I waited for about 30 minutes after my appointment time), and was then taken to an interview with someone who was not the person I had been told would be taking the interview. I was also taken in with another applicant, which I was not aware would be there at the same time. The questions were the usual expected ones, why we were applying to the role, etc. In the job description the company refused to give information about the salary; it turns out that payment was based purely on performance (commissions), and following the initial interview there would be an 'open day', where candidates shadow the current staff members for a day. This would also be unpaid. I was rung later in the evening by my interviewer who asked me if I would be interested in the role. Thanks, but no thanks. Overall, not very impressed with Ambitum as a whole. I was already prepared for this thanks to the previous Glass Door reviews (thanks, guys!). Hopefully anyone else considering these roles will be suitably informed.
