      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 6 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso American Express nel mese di mag 2013

      Colloquio

The hiring process for American Express is moderately intense. Initially before your application will even be submitted, they require you take a series of tests. Yes actual tests. I had to take three for the specific job I was hired for. Several others for the ones I wasn't hired for. They don't test IQ or base knowledge of facts but your basic intelligence ability to decypher information quickly. How quickly and accurately you can enter complex data, words per minute. Then a base personality type questionaire. (ie In this situation would you do this or this...). American Express is very competetive with other financial companies and they pride themselves on "World Class Service". For that reason their hiring process is very detailed. If however you make it through all the steps/hoops you will be working for a fortune 100 company. After the initial "testing" phase you will be notified whether or not you will be conducting a phone interview. Much of the same as the initial application questionaire and what you should already have listed on your resume. Past experience, current job duties, attendance issues, standard situational interview questions, availability etc etc. Then you will be notified for a second phone interview. They will recap and ask a few more questions. Finally an in person interview. Mine was a Round Robin type interview where they have you with the other canidates sitting in the middle of a room various supervisors and managers from the department are sitting on tables facing inward to the room. You will interview briefly with 6 of the supervisors for aprox. 5 minutes. They will ask typical interview questions. If after all that you have met the bar they will give you an offer. The offer is negotiable so be ready with a counter offer. This interview process was specific to my job. Your experience may vary. Yes it was well worth it.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

The most difficult or unexpected would not be a certain question but the entire process itself. It was a steady 6 week process before an offer was given.
