      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 2 giorni. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso American Income Life (Dallas, TX) nel mese di gen 2018

      Colloquio

I was contacted by a recruiter saying that they reviewed my resume on Monster and would like to invite me to an interview based on my qualifications. When I arrived at the interview there were several other people in the room. I was handed a packet with a list of interview questions to answer. The interviewer came in the room and didn’t interview anyone but gave a presentation. The presentation was basically trying to convince you that their company was legitimate and then a lot of time spent on how much money you can make. At the end of the presentation another sheet was handed out with 6 questions. The final question was to answer "Yes/No” if you are interested in this position. I went ahead and circled “yes”. I received a call later in the day saying “congratulations, you were one of 3 candidates we selected to come back for a second interview.” (I was probably one of 3 candidates who circled yes). I returned the next day for a second interview. I was handed a sheet with 3 questions. 1. Did you talk to your support system? 2. What questions do you have? 3. Can you pay $79.95 for your insurance exam? I listed several questions. Is this a commission only position? Are there benefits? What hours are expected? Is there travel? The interviewer took me to his office and began the interview by saying, "I’m not here to ask you any questions. I’ve seen it all and heard it all. What questions do you have for me?” Really? you’re not going to ask me one question about me? If I’m a good fit for the position or the company? You don’t want to know about me? That was strange to me. The interviewer proceeded to say, “Frankly, some of your questions on this sheet concern me.” Again, really? Those are questions anyone would ask about a potential job. They were ready to offer my the job but as I asked questions, here is what I found out. It is a commission only job. You are a 1099 contractor. Yet you are expected to work 6 days a week from 11am-9pm, M-Sat. 60 hours a week! And yes there is travel. I would be expected to drive up to an hour away on my own dime. There are no mileage reimbursements. With all that traveling I am expected to have 8 appointments per day set up. Commission is 50% of each sale and my target is to make $2400 a week in sales. So let’s say I am hitting my target each and every week for 52 weeks. That is 60 hours a week with only 1 day a week off to spend with family. That is roughly $62,000 a year. After self employment taxes and expenses, I am making around $50,000 a year. So I am supposed to bust my tail 60 hours a week each and every week I am never missing my target (which doesn’t happen because every salesperson sometimes misses their target). Talk about burnout. I suspect that what they are wanting is just a bunch of warm bodies and worker bees who will go out in the field and sign people up for insurance. If they burnout after a couple months, that is fine by them. They’ll just get some more recruits to do all the dirty work while upper management makes commission off of their sales. They tell you are are interviewing for a leadership/management position. That is bogus. You are not leading or managing anything. You are 1099 contractor who is expendable. They throw out huge numbers enticing recruits who think they will make $100,000 a year. There are no benefits. This interview was unimpressive. They didn’t talk about what a great product they have for the market. All they talked about was how much money you can make. Lots of red flags when the people there just want to make money and could care less about the product they sell.

The interview went well, I'm just looking for insight on what I'll be walking into starting this job. I had to add a review to be able to see others reviews, I will update as soon as I start.

The interview questions are the basic questions like past employment, hours willing to work, just stuff like that.

Virtual group interview with about 11 people. They gave a breakdown of what would be required (An insurance license) and what we could expect. There is no base salary and each sale is estimated to average $500

      Colloquio

Process was disjointed and inconclusive. Zoom - 3 total. 1st- basic meet-greet. 2nd- a company promo video you watch alone mostly about an annual convention in a tropical location: nothing specific about the job. 3rd- "Host is in another meeting," waited 20 mins and left, so it never happened.

      Domanda 1

There wasn't a real interview. Never got to find out about the agency or the actual position. If it's that disorganized and disrespectful from the get-go, I want nothing to do with it.
