      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 giorni. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso American Income Life (Austin, TX) nel mese di mar 2015

      Colloquio

I initially replied to ads that AIL posted on Craigslist (once in Austin, TX, and once in Seattle). Both started with a brief phone interview. After the initial phone screening, I was invited in for an in-person interview. I showed up to find that it was me and about thirty other people there for the interview. We were all in a waiting room and invited individually for a five-minute one-on-one interview. The rest of the "interview" was all of us sitting in a room while one of the AIL managers pitched the opportunity to us. It's not a customer service job. Nor is it human resources (they've advertised as such also). It was 100% commission-based insurance sales. Pure and simple. It's also a multi-level marketing structure. They intentionally misled job seekers to get them in the door, then they basically try to sell you on taking the job. It really feels like more of a sales pitch than anything else. Again, it's MLM so that's why they want to hire as many productive sales people as possible, since the managers get a cut of the commissions from the sales force they've hired. I only showed up for the Austin, TX in person interview. Later I did a phone interview for Seattle (I didn't know it was AIL at the time, again because their job postings don't specify the company and are blatantly and intentionally misleading on the nature of the position). After the phone interview for Seattle something didn't seem right and I did some digging only to find out on my own that it was another AIL office. I have no issue with the fact that insurance companies need sales people to sell their product. However AIL is an MLM company that intentionally and systematically deceives people to get them in the door and to have them listen to their high-pressure pitch. People are out there looking to work, some of them have kids to support or who knows what else. It's hard to respect a company who's practices waste time and energy for job seekers.

I waited online for an Zoom interview to start for 15 minutes after confirming the time with the company that morning. No one ever joined the meeting and no response from the company. Was very disappointed as time is valuable.

Watch a webinar, which is concise, straightforward and to the point. Then answer a survey and hope you are a good match for a call back. You do need to pay for your own licensing

A sales pitch to me about free cruises and bonuses. Seemed like a multilevel marketing scam. It was much more about them than me. And they seemed to be willing to take on anyone. All commission based so they don't care.
