Four candidates were scheduled at the same time. Co-founder, Laura Campbell, took us on a tour of several classrooms, so we could get a feel for what the instruction looked like in elementary level classrooms while describing how their school's instruction differs from what might be found in a typical public school classroom. Then we were given assessments, along with a personal interview. The math test was basic computation and word problems. Be sure to show all of your work, as they want to see that you can show the process and all of the steps. The reading test was a short passage. The first time you read it you are timed for speed and graded on accuracy. Then you read it again for expression. Then you are asked several comprehension questions. The personal interview was discussing my background and my teaching philosophy.
