POCs BEWARE: As a person of color who has sincerely held religious beliefs, this was the first time I had experienced any sort of discrimination in an interview. Interview screening was great, recruiter saying I had checked all boxes and was the top candidate they had interviewed. That tone quickly changed when they asked about my vax status (Vaccine requirements were not listed in the job posting and/or application). Due to the state I reside in (Which bars employers to ask this question and/or require it for employment) as well as church leadership advising to currently not take the vax. I notified the recruiter of both reasons & all they replied with was “Why don’t you just get it? It’s accepted in YOUR community”. I was speechless for a second and gave the same answer. The recruiter quickly ended the interview & said they would follow up, which never happened. I found out that I was not moved to the next level until I saw the same job re-posted online. I used to hold Amgen to a very high regard. Their messages of “inclusion and acceptance “ are nothing more than a PR stunt for LinkedIn posts. Steer clear of this company if you’re looking for a truly healthy & positive workplace
