Process started via an external recruitment agency. Attended a video call interview. Completely dissatisfied with the interview process based on following experience:
1. Interviewers were unable to properly frame the questions. Maybe they wanted to ask some standard questions, but was unable to properly put forward those.
2. Silly interview questions:
E.g. how can you find a record in a flat file (it's pretty obvious while you can easily do a find and search), how can you view how many records are there in input file (it seemed that the interviewers didn't have an idea that the file can be opened in a text editor and get the count of records therein), how can you match the count of records between input file and target Database, etc.
3. They don't let the candidate complete an answer and jumps to another question in the middle.
4. Not at all clear on the interview agenda.
Management should conduct interview in a fair and professional way if and only if they really need to hire any external candidate. Otherwise it's of no use to waste valuable time of deserving candidates.
