I just feel they are assigning their own tasks to the candidates so that they can use candidates bug findings and test cases in their documentation. Candidates will definitely find some bugs and write testcases. May be they will use it in their document. I was asked to do the following:
- Write functional test cases for 3D design tool which is their own application.
- Compatibility Check
- User Friendly Testing
- Security Review
- Performance Assessment
- Bug Report
- Summary report
I have prepared 70 test cases and prepared 11 page test report that includes all the mentioned test type. When I Submit my assignment, they asked me to write comprehensive test cases for draw feature. so i added more testcases and in total 118 testcases.
I just feel, they are asking for this kind of huge assignment on their own product so that they can use these documents for their company.

30 mins interview. Tell about yourself, basics of testing, given a scenario, tell all possible testcases, given a random object tell about its test cases. And other relevant follow up questions as conversation goes on.

If you got referred by someone, then it is very easy for you to crack the interview. Whatever skills you add in your resume only they pick that up and ask about that only.
