The interview process was supposed to be three rounds. First the telephone screening by recruiter, followed by an hour long video interview by the hiring manager and finally a panel round. The recruiter knew me from a previous role that I applied for (I earlier applied for another role in a different team that was handled by the same recruiter, got rejected in the panel round then. So she remembered me.), so she skipped the telephone screening and just asked few questions through email. The second round with hiring manager was an hour long, in which he had another senior expert in the call. Together, they asked questions about my experience, some fundamentals as well as some behavioral questions about being a team player. I answered all of them and was pretty confident that it went well. The final round had a panel of 4 very senior managers who had strong technical knowledge. I gave a presentation on my previous work and background for about 40 minutes, which was then followed by a Q&A session by the panel. The questions involved basic questions about the subject, questions about the work in my presentation, as well as critical thinking questions about what I think are the most pressing issues to be addressed immediately. Overall, I felt it went well.

The interviewer asked basic questions related to Strength of materials, beam theory, deflection, stress strain theory, SFD-BMD of cantilever problem, indepth analysis into solid mechanics, von mises, hand calculations, neutral axis in bending, composite beams, concepts related to principal stresses etc. Interview was bit on the technically heavy and they were expecting exact answers.
