I received an email requesting a phone screen with a recruiter. This conversation went well and she was extremely nice and moved me forward for a second interview. My second interview however was drastically different. From the moment I began the interview it seem as if the hiring manager was trying to find any reason to disqualify me from the position. It was strange. For example she mentioned that the recruiter noted that I would like to have a role that involves people management as I progressed with the company. She proceeded to say that I may not be a good fit because the career path for this role does not align with people management. I questioned if I was offered the role of there was only one path to follow. She answered no and mentioned other FUTURE roles. She then proceeded to mention some other reason I may not be a good fit. Then entire experience was strange especially considering the recruiter thought I may be a good fit based on my experience. I will say the pay is extremely low for this position so it’s no loss. It’s only $18 an hour. I did expect more from Appfolio regarding their hiring process honestly.
