It was very long. 8 interviews in total before I was told that I was too senior for the role. The recruiter was amazing, and was very into communicating with me until I was no longer in the running for the role.

How you provide feedback to an employee who has been there for a long time.

I had a similar experience to some of the other ASLP reviews. The group session (around 25 total participants & 5 managers/recruiters) was held at a hotel conference room. Before it started as people arrived in the lobby, there was an opportunity to talk with the managers and get to know the other applicants. Be aware that the Apple folks will be taking mental notes even before you enter the main room, so engage in some small talk. Once everyone is seated, the managers introduce themselves and they pose an ice-breaker question for everyone to answer in front of the group. Ours was "What super power would you choose to have?" Be creative and enthusiastic with your answer, as this is the only question that you will answer on your own. THERE ARE NO personal questions directed toward individuals after that. The opportunities to have your voice heard a fairly limited considering the number of people. There was a Q&A portion where we could ask about the program (and anything else really), so it would be smart to ask something during this. In between, we also saw a couple videos about Apple retail with employees discussing their jobs. Another reviewer described this as brainwashing sort of stuff - "drink the kool-aid" if you will. I was expecting it to be like that, but have to disagree with the sentiment. The way some of the employee spoke about their experience during the videos was a bit inspiring, actually. You will obviously have to form your own opinion, but I think those clips will probably be a good gauge of how you would feel about and get along in the Apple culture. There was also a brief discussion following the videos. The group activity is a chance to show off your product knowledge/creative thinking skills. Each group of 5 or so people are posed a scenario and given roughly 20 minutes to prepare a short presentation. One of the managers will be overseeing each group's progress. Being vocal during your group discussions and then prepared during the presentation is probably most important for standing out. Overall it was a great experience. This is apparently the first time Apple has implemented the Store Leader program (maybe explains small number of reviews here). Despite being scheduled to last around 2 hours, time flew by and I didn't realize it had been almost twice that long once we got out! There were a lot of talented & intelligent people at my seminar, however product knowledge and tech savvy will likely not be enough to ride on. A few of the managers even admitted they weren't Apple experts. Personality is a major factor and depending on the scenario, there could be other store positions available if you aren't selected for the ASLP. I hope this long-winded review helps out future candidates at least a little, since I was to able gain some valuable insight from the earlier reviews. Good luck!

I put in a relatively short application on their website around late March. Answered a few questions, attached my resume, and I think my transcript. I'm fairly sure there wasn't a time frame on when they'd get back to me. I knew they'd email if I was selected to advance and that the position starts in September this year. I actually assumed that I just wasn't selected after a while. However, I got an email from an Apple recruiting rep around the 20th of May. Asking what I assume the short phone call used to be for. Clarifying my availability, rights to work, any time off requests for the next 12 months, preferred location, if I'd previously worked at or been interviewed by Apple, and confirming my university, degree and graduation date. My one suggestion for this is specify when your final exams/results are due. My actual graduation ceremony is going to be in October (after September), but my final exams and results will be out in June (before September). After clarifying that I was straight onto the phone interviews. I had to RSVP and choose a time online for that or the next week. or next week. The interviews were for 30 minutes (mine went a little over). I thought it went quite well - it was a one on one interview with the same recruitment rep who I'd been emailing. She asked pretty standard interview questions - how have you overcome challenges at work, customer service experience, why you want to work for Apple, management experience etc. The only other thing was asking what Apple products I had. My interview was on the Thursday and I was told that I'd hear by the end of next week whether I was successful or not. The rep called me the next Thursday with news that I'd made it to the final interviews/group interviews. I'm yet to attend (it's later this month), but they're actually flying me down and paying for the expenses like my accommodation. The RSVP for the day only gave one choice with 5 spots. I'm not sure yet if that means that it's down to 5 people in my nominated city or they've just chosen the day for each of us and we can accept or decline. The actual process from the first email from them until being notified of getting to the final stage has taken under 3 weeks. Since I put the application in, it's more like 2 and a half months. Compared to other graduate programs I've applied to - this process was much easier considering there were no aptitude or personality tests. Found the other information here pretty helpful for the process so I figured I'd contribute one since there's few Australian contributions. I'll try to remember to update this with how the final stage goes.

Nothing asked was particularly difficult or totally unexpected. There were no technical questions, and the only thing I'd suggest checking you know is your GPA and specifics about when you can potentially give notice to work. **I'll try to remember to update after the final stage.
