I applied for the position through a staffing agency. I met with four of the staff tech writers and the lead tech writer. They stressed that it was important that the new hire fit the company "culture." I also met with a project manager (engineer) who asked me about my science background.
This is a company that values long-term employees. Making a good social impression should be your top priority.
