Submitted online job application and did not hear back for several months. HR called to schedule a phone interview. Phone interview questions were somewhat typical regarding knowledge of resources, education, professional goals, etc. The second interview took place in person and questions were more related to interpersonal communication and conflict resolution. Received a call a few hours later with a job offer. Salary was less that desirable and HR representative was somewhat rude when told I would need more details regarding benefits and time to sleep on it. After accepting, I had to take a skills assessment for basic computer skills. Overall it was quick interview and hiring process with no real surprised beyond a couple of sub par interactions with HR.

Three rounds of interviews: first a phone call with manager and supervisor, second meeting with specialty team, third a meeting with full department. I needed to present a few booktalks and discuss a program plan at the full department interview. The nice part of the multiple interviews is that I got to meet the other people who were doing similar work and ask them questions as well as the manager. The questions were about everything from reference interviews to communication styles. The department I interviewed with works remote from one another, at separate libraries spread around, and there were questions about how I might approach that work environment. It was interesting.
