Had an intro HR call. Had a follow-up interview with someone from the hiring team. Received a generic rejection email about a week after the interview. Looking back on this a month later it appears as though the intention is to outsource the position as made clear on their careers page. The company forgot to update the requirement of the in-person as they are hiring for in India, as I quote from their listing: "NOTE: Candidates to be located in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA metro areas only as we are looking to build co-located clusters of engineers that can meet in an office for collaboration and design." I walked away from this believing I have dodged a potential bullet. Best of luck to these folks.
