Online meetings, 3 week time span between start and finish. 1:1 interviews with everyone
Only 2 interviews with hiring manager - then 3 with other AEs
Company was pretty unprofessional when it came to giving feedback and reasons as to why the offer didn’t progress.
The internal recruitment team shared feedback from hiring manager - I then shared this back to the hiring manager myself in the next interview we had. They then stated that this was one of the reasons I didn’t get the role - apparently I was meant to keep that to myself and this supposedly disadvantaged me. I found this rather odd given the company appeared to be very people/culture and values focused.
Having other account executives interview you (by themselves) is pretty pointless if other team members are going to be involved - it should be in a group setting with a manager or recruiter present.
Also as feedback / having busy account executives who clearly seemed both distracted and time poor rattle off a list of very broad questions - and then turn around and want specific answers to those questions later on is just going to waste everyone’s time, instead you should just do this through a survey.

How did you contribute at your old jobs outside of your role

Took almost 6 months and was very sloppy with many hiccups along the way. The recruiter was from an external company and was very bad at his job. There would be constant periods of no communication going on for weeks at times.

Tell me about a time when you had an unhappy customer. How did you solve it.
Got contacted by the headhunter. Passed the first round. Got to the second which was not with the Sales Manager of the department I was interviewed for. The questions were mainly focused on my current processes and not my sales approach. Never got any further feedback even after contacting both of them directly.

I recently interviewed with Asana and, unfortunately, found the experience to be underwhelming. The interview process felt very scripted—each interviewer seemed to be reading questions directly off a screen, leaving little room for organic conversation or follow-up. Despite spending over three hours in one day on calls and preparing a detailed deal analysis presentation, I was not provided any feedback when they decided not to move forward.
One particularly disappointing moment was with a female leader on the emerging enterprise team who opened the call by saying she was “too busy” for the interview. From the outset, it felt like she didn’t want to be there, which made for an uncomfortable and disengaging interaction.
Overall, I’d recommend Asana re-evaluate their interview process to be more candidate-friendly. A more conversational approach, providing time for questions, and offering post-interview feedback would go a long way in creating a better experience. As it stands, I left the process feeling confused, undervalued, and disappointed.
