      Red flags across the board. I was told through the phone screen that the role was going to be more sales based instead of recruiting which I wasn't too fond of. When I asked about salary, I was told the hourly rate was starting at $16.50 which is ridiculous pay. I told the recruiter that's unacceptable and he assured me I'd receive the salary I was expecting, since that's just the minimum. I was set up for a first-round interview with a couple talent managers. However, it ended up being with someone who wasn't even on the intial invite. She asked me several questions and gave the impression that I'd be moving to the final interview/shadowing session. I was then told to reach back out to the recruiter. I reached out to the recruiter only to get an automatic email stating that he was out of the office and to contact another recruiter, so I did. This recruiter told me they would set up a shadowing session for the next week as soon as she heard back. A few days went by and I reached out for updates. She responded by saying the "next steps" would be for them to decide if they would do the in-person shadowing. I was pretty upset because she made it appear as though I was waiting for it to be set up. A day after she told me I would hear back, I decided to send her a strongly-worded email telling her how terrible of a recruiter she had been and that I was no longer interested in the role. That's when the out-of-office recruiter emailed me to apologize and say they decided to go forward with other candidates. Recruiting is a shady industry. Don't trust anything these people say.
