Bait and switch: I thought I was interviewing for a mid-level position that I would be qualified for. During the interview I noticed that headings on paperwork said "SENIOR Engineer." Upon seeing this, I said to the interviewer that it was my understanding that I would be interviewing for a "mid-level" position. The interviewer looked nervous and that is when it dawned on me. They needed to interview a woman for a senior position to fulfill whatever quota they have and this time it was me. I was a "throw away" female applicant.
