I interviewed for this role online in March 2024, after having been contacted by a 3rd party recruiter. The company, product and tech stack looked great and seemed like a good match for my experience, so I came in with a very positive outlook.
The technical discussion was very comprehensive. It started out around my work experience and then branched into many different but relevant topics, ranging from System Design to Databases to questions around linked lists and binary trees.
My interviewer was knowledgeable and the discussion was enjoyable and went well.
Three weeks later, after no follow-up from the company, I reached out to HR to ask what went wrong. I was told that the technical feedback "was not negative" but they've been busy with delivery and the role was put on hold for the time being. They also said they'd be in touch once they were ready to resume the process...
... and that was it - never heard back.
P.S. only marking the experience as negative because of the obvious - and easily avoidable - lack of comms and not the tech interview itself
P.P.S. only marking the interview as Difficult because of the breadth and depth of the questions compared to other similar interviews
