Online aplication involves answering some of the standard questions, as well as some competency questions (Why Atkins? Which business sector and why? Career aspiraions? Please tell us about how you have built a successful relationship that has helped you to succeed in the delivery of a project or task). This was followed by some of the standard verbal and numerical tests that many other companies ask for. Following this, there was a very simple 10-15 minute telephone interview. This was very straightforward, with just 1 compentency question and a few simple questions about the company itself. The assessment day consists of listening to a presentation by Atkins, a group exercise, an individual exercise (also invovles delivering a presentation), a technical test, a technical interview (based on answers from the technical test) and a CV interview. The assessment day is a long day. The individual exercise requires the applicant to read through a large package of information and come up with a creative idea. Then they are required to deliver this idea in a presentation, highlighting the pros and cons, as well as answering questions from a panel. The technical test is a 3 question test lasting 30 mins. The answers are discussed in the technical interview for a period of approximately half an hour as well as discusing how the applicant works in general.
