I was contacted by an agent without applying for the position. I believe my skills and qualifications suitably matched the job requirements. There was an initial telephone interview that lasted roughly 30 / 45 minutes. I was invited for a face to face interview with my future line manager and also the product manager in R&D. This also included a task to compile a written report of a previously successful example of great customer service. Following provided guidance in the style of a technical engineering report i.e. requirements gathering (aims and goals), specification (how, who & why), implementation (what, where, when), outcome (results), what would you do differently (evaluation and improvements) etc.
Also there was a small practical/technical wiring challenge, with provided instructions from one of their hardware manuals. Not challenging to a competent engineer but good for weeding out good blaggers.
I was very impressed by the interview process, It was probably the reason why everyone working there was so competent
