I was asked to complete a cognitive assessment not once, not twice, not three times, but four times. Yes — four. The interview process itself was fairly standard, and I genuinely felt a strong connection with the leadership team. I believed it was a good fit, especially since I lived just five minutes away and made clear my flexibility to support the business whenever needed. Having worked at a startup before, I know what it takes to deliver.
That said, the repeated assessment process felt excessive and, frankly, a bit of a joke. Ultimately, after the interview, I accepted a role with a pension fund valued at over $10 billion. Three years later, I’m still here, thriving in a leadership position.
Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience.
We’re glad you felt a strong connection with our leadership team, and we appreciate your honest feedback about the assessment process. Our intention is always to carefully evaluate the right fit for both the candidate and the company, but we understand that the repetitiveness may have felt excessive and we are looking into this internally.
We’re happy to hear you’ve found success in your current role and wish you all the best moving forward.
If you’d like to share more details or discuss your experience further, please reach out to us at people@avironactive.com. We’d genuinely appreciate the opportunity to learn from your feedback.

Terrible interviewer. Not sure their business is doing well. Trying to replicate Peloton which is a failing business and their doesn’t seem to be a cohesive culture or org as they weren’t sure who the marketing person would be reporting to.

Interview process consisted of an: (unpaid) creative test, HR screen, interview with the CMO and hiring manager, peer panel interview and an in-person lunch/culture fit. This process took about a month to complete and an additional month to get a final verdict. While I enjoyed meeting everyone, I am disappointed with how key decision makers conducted themselves. Throughout my interview process, I had the carrot dangled of being a “top candidate” on numerous occasions and was even asked to participate in an ad hoc call with the hiring manager two weeks after my in-person lunch to ensure I was still interested in the position. Given that my experience resulted in receiving a generic rejection email, I would’ve appreciated more tact up to this point as opposed to being led on. To add salt to the wound, I was also ghosted when I replied asking for more specific details on where I fell short. Based on this experience, I will not recommend nor apply to any other opportunities with Aviron.
