      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 5 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso BAE Systems (Guildford, Inghilterra) nel mese di lug 2013

      Colloquio

Handed in my covering letter & CV on their website and was sent an invite to a first round interview with a couple of weeks or so. First Round Interview: Interviewed by 2 employees at their Guildford headquarters. Quite a friendly and relaxed interview. Typical interview questions (why do you want to work for us/why cyber security/tell us about yourself etc...) as well as a couple of competency questions. Also asked case study type questions which were related to my prior experiences with networking (related to how I could detect the presence of malware on a network from information in HTTP packets). Interview lasted about 45 minutes and went fairly well. Received an email the day after inviting me to a second round interview. Second Round Interview: Interviewed by 2 employees at their office in London (one senior consultant & one graduate). Again, quite a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Started off with my 15 minute presentation (which I did on my final year electronics university project) that seemed to go down well, followed by questions about my presentation for another 15 minutes or so (did you have any problems during the project/any issues with your team/what would you do in the future etc.) This was followed by another 45 minutes of them asking me general questions about myself, my technical knowledge and where I would like to fit in in the business. This questioning was quite thorough, but was very focussed on what I'd put on my CV (so make sure you know your CV inside/out!). However, my second interview did not involve any tricky case studies or brain-teaser questions (which I had been expecting and was pleasantly surprised not to be asked) though I don't know if this is the case for all second round interviews. There was 15 minutes time at the end for me to ask them questions. Overall, I felt my second interview went really well. However, 4 weeks went by and I still hadn't heard anything. I finally emailed them just to ask for some feedback (as by this point I assumed I hadn't got the job), but they told me they still didn't have an outcome for me leaving me pretty confused. 8 weeks after my second interview, I received a call offering me a job. This would've been great, but in the mean time I had interviewed for and accepted a job with another company Overall: Though the interview process was friendly and not too stressful, the recruitment in general seemed very slow and disorganised! Taking 8 weeks to hear the outcome of a job interview is pretty unacceptable in my opinion and I wouldn't have taken the job based on that alone.

      Domanda 1

How I would go about detecting the presence of malware on a network from information in HTTP network packets?
