      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso BASF (Florham Park, NJ) nel mese di mar 2019

      Colloquio

Within 2 hours of applying for the position online, I received a phone call from HR to conduct a brief phone screening to ensure I checked the 6 "boxes" for the position. I was confirmed a good match. Next step was the Talent Acquisition Team scheduling next steps. Over 3.5 weeks went by; I heard nothing. I reached out to HR, who 1st conducted the phone screen, who agreed to nudge the Talent Acquisition Team about setting up the next interview. I received a call 2 days later to setup my Skype interview with the Business Director, Personal Care Solution - North America & supervisor for the position. The Skype interview with the business director was 1 hour long. At times, I found her to be very interrogating & found myself saying repeatedly - "I can only say so much about this project because I need to respect the confidentiality of my old employer." This response was interpreted by the Director as an "inability to provide details on my work experience." I was also asked "Tell me one of your weaknesses." I said, "I tend to be perfectionist - my own worst critic." The Business Director quickly jumped in and said " I know all about your type and how you operate and you're detrimental to teams because you think you know best, etc." I found this to be a very odd response and one based solely on assumptions. I asked for the opportunity to explain my answer but could see her mind was made up and I'd been "categorized." I was only given the last 3 minutes of the 1 hour call to ask any questions about the position. The Business Director was in a hurry to jump off the call to her next commitment. I found it quite rude that not enough time was allotted to perform a thorough a relaxed interview for both parties. The end of the interview was very odd - I was told by the Business Director "you seem to know exactly what you're looking for and I'm sure you'll find it.' Followed by "You'll love it here at BASF, we have such great perks - X, Y, Z and please email me with any questions you have that we didn't get to answered on this interview because of the shortage of time. (By the way, she never responded to the emails sent.) Finally, she said, HR will be in contact about next steps." Over a month went by and I heard nothing. I reached out to the Talent Acquisition Team to understand the status of my application. I was told "oh, we never followed up with the business director after your interview ( 1 month had gone by) to see how she'd like to proceed. We'll have to check in with her. We've been busy and she's been traveling ….blah, blah, blah." The final word given to me by HR during that correspondence was, "I will definitely let you know where your application stands as soon as I receive feedback." Another 2 weeks went by and not a word. I emailed the Business Director with whom I had the Skype interview with - no response. About 3 weeks after my last email correspondence with HR, I decided to check the BASF job portal and saw "Your application is no longer being considered" with a date stamp of 2 days ago. In essence, they closed out my application and I was never notified, no feedback, nothing. Roughly 6 weeks went by and I received 3 automated email from HR asking me to complete a survey on their recruitment process. I found it to be quite forward of them to provide no feedback to me, the candidate, but yet expecting me to complete a 30 min survey to document their inadequate recruitment process. I can only imagine the number of good candidates they've scared away or have missed out on due to their lack of organization. Finally, the job position has now been open for 7 months. If a Company can go 7 months without filling the position, I question how much the position is even needed.
